2. Which portable electronic devices may be rescued by Gadget Saver?
Mobile phones, hearing aids, MP3 players, ipods, Diabetic electronic measuring equipment, Hand Held Game Consoles, and portable electronic tools affected by water ingression before circuitry corrosion sets in, stand a chance being rescued.
3. How can Gadget Saver protect my portable electronic device?
The Gadget Saver can provide extra protection, if you place your portable electronic device into the package before undertaking outdoor pursuits like boating, fishing, camping, outdoor sports, sailing or even a day at the Pool or Beach.
4. How can Gadget Saver improve the performance and prolong the working life of my electronic devices?
Regular use of the Gadget Saver® Device can improve the performance and prolong the working life of your everyday electronic gadgets. Great for using on earphones, hearing aids, Cameras, Mp3 players etc to improve performance, prevent corrosion setting in, particularly in everyday climatic conditions like rainfall, temperature and humidity. The Gadget Saver® Device can rapidly remove liquids, perspiration and splashes from your portable electronic gadgets.
5. What do I do after I find out that my portable electronic gadget is wet, has fallen into water/liquid,..?
Remove all the contents from the Gadget Saver® bag, then follow the easy steps set out below:

  1. If the device is powered off, leave it off.
  2. If the device has a removable battery, please remove it now.
  3. Remove any sim cards and memory cards if applicable.
  4. Devices with non removable batteries, just power the device off.

The type of liquid that caused your accident is very important. If it was water, proceed directly to the next step. However, if the liquid has a sticky content we suggest you submerge your device briefly in a bowl of clean water (distilled water works best or boil some tap water and let it go cold) for approximately 5 seconds or until all air bubbles have stopped. Remove device, let the water drain out before proceeding to the next step.

  1. Use the supplied lint free cleaning cloth and gently soak up any excess liquid from the affected device.
  2. Use the supplied cotton swabs to gently dry & clean any exposed contacts. These swabs can also be used to dry & clean any difficult area like the screen & keypad.
  3. Now place the affected device along with the detached battery (sim & memory cards if applicable) and the Gadget Saver® Absorbency Pack back into the Gadget Saver® bag. For Gadget Saver® Medium Unfold the black internal bag and place the affected device along with the detached battery (sim & memory cards if applicable) and the Gadget Saver® Absorbency Pack ® into the supplied re-sealable black bag.
  4. Reseal the bag, gently expelling any excess air. We recommend you leave the device in the Gadget Saver®bag for a minimum of 8-12 hours.
  5. After a minimum of 8-12 hours, remove your device from the Gadget Saver® bag; reattach the battery and any applicable accessories & recharge the device for a minimum of four hours (this recharges both main and internal batteries where applicable).
  6. Then power the device up. Another gadget saved by Gadget Saver!
6. What do I do if my portable electronic device does not power up after use of the Gadget Saver® Package? Try the following:
  1. We recommend you replace your device in the Gadget Saver® Package for a further 8-12 hours and power up then.
  2. If the device still does not power, you may need to replace your device’s main battery. Batteries can easily become terminally damaged on contact with liquid. So try a new battery.

8. What is the shelf life of Gadget Saver?
If the Gadget Saver® Device remains sealed it would have a shelf life of 5 years and once opened its shelf life would be greatly reduced and for the rescue of future gadgets we suggest replacing with a new Gadget Saver® product.
9. What do I do if my skin/body comes in touch with the contents inside the moisture absorbency bag within the Gadget Saver product?
  1. After inhalation: remove to fresh air. Keep warm and at rest. Obtain medical attention if symptoms develop.
    i. Inhalation: amorphous silica has little adverse effect on lungs and does not produce significant disease or toxic effect when exposure is kept below the permitted limits.
  2. After skin contact: wash with water, if skin irritation persists seek medical advice.
  3. After eye contact: flush with water, if irritation persists seek medical advice.
  4. After ingestion: give water to drink, seek medical advice. Do not induce vomiting.
10. Is there any Regulatory Information on Gadget Saver?
Gadget Saver is not a dangerous preparation according to EC Directive 67/548/EEC (Classification, Packaging and Labelling of Dangerous Substances) as last amended. It is not classed as a dangerous substance by the Chemicals (Hazard Information and Packaging) Regulations 2008.
11. Can the Gadget Saver product be disposed of in the household refuse, after (multiple) use?
The disposal of Gadget Saver is according to national and local regulations. Gadget Saver is Approved landfill.
12. Is Gadget Saver ecological/biological friendly?
The amorphous silica within the Gadget Saver product is chemically and biologically inert. It is not degradable. By its insolubility in water, there is a separation at every filtration and sedimentation process.
13. Can one Gadget Saver bag be used more than once?
Yes, that is possible, as long as the granule bag is dried thoroughly after its first use, stored and sealed in a dry place. Multiple use however may weaken the absorbency characteristics of Gadget Saver, making it necessary for an electronic device to be stored in the Gadget Saver bag for periods longer than first time use of 8-12 hours.
14. Does Gadget Saver work all the time?
The circumstances in which Gadget Saver will be used can vary widely and in some circumstances the damage caused to the customer’s moisture-affected device may be beyond the ability of the Gadget saver product to remedy.
15. Is there only one type of Gadget Saver?
No, there are 2 types of bags:

  1. Small Bag
  2. Medium Bag

The Gadget Saver® Small is perfect for drying out the following devices:
All Mobile Phones, MP3 Players, Watches, Bluetooth Headsets, Car Remotes, Hearing Aids, Earphones, Small Cameras, USB Memory Sticks, Medical Testing Kits and other devices up to 10x15 cm.

The Gadget Saver® Medium is perfect for drying out the following devices:
Tablet PC's, eBook Readers, TV Remotes, PDA's, Sat Navs, Handheld Games, Cameras, Walkie Talkies, Cordless Phones, Medical Testing Kits, Children's Toys and other devices up to 24x18cm.

We strongly suggest you always have a Gadget Saver® Device to hand just in case! We recommend you have one in the home, the Car, the Office, your toolbox, your sports kit and should be an essential item for your holiday.
